As a designer, I am passionate about exploring new graphic design techniques and pushing creative boundaries. For this icon design project, I drew inspiration from Susan Kare's work to create a set of chocolate chip recipe icons.
This project was incredibly informative and helped me to hone my design skills and discover new possibilities within the field.

I refined the icons over two rounds of revision before compiling them into a short book.
I refined the icons over two rounds of revision before compiling them into a short book.
I designed a frame for each page of the recipe book to help make the changes between pages in pixel sizes, negative space, and words less jarring. The frame helps unite all the illustrations with a consistent background.
To create a sense of continuity, I used dots on the bowls. I also added arrows to indicate transitions or combinations of ingredients. Different bitmap sizes establish a clear hierarchy within the design.
